This picture clearly does not show what we were getting into at all, so I guess I will be forced to tell you with only my words. Also, I think this may be a self portrait I took, and if so...damn, I am good!
Okay, to the point. Last weekend was my dear friend Tarp's birthday. ( the same Tarp who tells people like my cousin ,"Yea, I know Sarah...I work with her". See the way I introduce you as my dear friend. Not just, Tarp...the guy I work with...learn from me). Tarp did a lot of talking all week about how he was doing nothing big for his birthday, but then at the last minute caved and realized he LOVED his birthday and could not just let it pass by. He had himself a "Buy me a drink" party at his and Jim's house. It. Was. Awesome.
In a true testament to how awesome it was, I will tell you that I was the DD for the night and was totally sober. Still awesome. You know a party is going well when you plan on leaving around eleven, but you look up around 12:30, see everyone taking shots and dancing on the deck and realize you are nowhere near done. The party started out with about fifty people, but at that 12:30 mark it was down to basically Tarp, Jim, me and Nick, Boo, Missy, Charing and Scott....oh and Tarp's friend Drew. We decided it was time to head out on the town.
Tarp was all about going to The Bar, which is one of the local gay bar's in town. Who are we to argue with the birthday boy, so many of us took our very first trip to The Bar. We drank (me diet coke, everyone else, way to much alcohol) we watched the drag show (at one point I am very sure Tarp was singing over the music so loud that everyone could hear only him) we danced (okay, Nick didn't dance, but he did really enjoy himself!) and had an all around blast. So...Tarp, happy birthday my friend. I am sorry I forgot to do a post on your real birthday, but you had a rockin' party. We will all go back to the bar with you anytime!
**Now I am back to enjoying my perfect Friday off work...***
