It All Ends (a Harry Potter Post)

Tonight at midnight thousands of people will flock to movie theaters to watch the end of something that has meant so much to so many people. He will not be one of them...
Henry and Harry Potter
But soon. Just a few years bubby, then I will show you this magical world. This world that has meant so much to your Mama.

We are going tomorrow night with a group we have seen all the movies with. It will be awesome. And yet, it's sorta sad. The actual last thing.

The things I am most excited to see (Without any actual spoilers for people who haven't read the books)

1. The pensieve scene. I just... can't wait. For that part with "Always", for some reason it sorta makes me want to cry just thinking about it.

2. The walk in the woods.

3. Molly Weasely. Every little bit of that scene.

4. Neville, who, by the way, now looks like this. Right. But when he comes in at the end...Cannot wait.

5. The entire end. The entire thing. I just cannot wait to see this series that I love come to a close.

Oh how I hope Henry loves this like I have. I cannot wait to share it with him. To sit down and read a chapter a night. To watch the movies together. To go to Pottermore and experience it together, new for him and new for me through his eyes.

Soon. But for this weekend, it's all about Mama getting to see the end. And I cannot wait.

If you love the series, tell me what you are excited to see in this last movie. Are you going at midnight? Are you dressing up? I am wearing my Muggle shirt. After you see it, stop by and tell me what you thought!

  1. Ok, so you know how for years I was all, "I don't like the HP movies because they're not as good as the book and I have, you know, STANDARDS?"

    I broke this week.

Mike and I have been watching them to try and catch up and I get all teary eyed thinking of the end... And just, I don't know, I don't want it to be over.

So I just wanted to let you know, I was lying all this time. It's because I didn't want to cry in public in a movie theater when I watched the sad parts.

    There. I admitted it.

  3. Oh Henry's wand and Hedwig are just too cute!

I am unfortunately not going to the cinema to watch it as I don't think my back or bladder will cope. In fact I only watched the first part of the last movie this week as I didn't want to watch it until the second part came out. We watched it so Tim can go to the cinema and I may still be tempted to try, but I might ruin the experience by multiple toilet trips :(

I cannot wait though because I re-read the whole series earlier this year when I was at my sickest and want to watch the end so much. I even made Tim read the books (shockingly, despite being an avid reader and loving sci-fi and fantasy as a rule, he had never read them! He has yet to read the Deathly Hallows so I'm spurring him on to read it before he goes to watch the end).

Oh, and Neville? Seriously, where did that come from? He's certainly one who grew into his looks, isn't he? He is one of my favourite characters (along with Luna) and I loved how he is by the end of the series. Good old Neville!
